There are miles of plowed runs on the lake and there are ice skating competitions arranged every year with both national as well as international participants. Cross country skiing is very popular on the lake as well. There are also down hill skiing and cross country skiing tracks nearby. In the spring, summer and fall the area and surrounding nature are magnificent and offers many hiking opportunities.
